Youth interpreters at the Agricultural History Farm Park are helping staff plant a demonstration garden illustrating "The Maryland Plan". The Maryland Plan was the colonial system of planting and rotating tobacco and corn, the two main cash crops of the Mid-Atlantic colonies. This was the first system used for planting at the Agricultural History Farm Park when it was first settled in the 1780s by the Magruder family. From June 22 through August, stop by the Farm on Thursdays from 12 to 4 pm for free house and garden tours, and learn more about the agricultural history of Montgomery County: bit.ly/2ccNgEa.
